Soldering the ends of the plug wire terminals is a good practice. It assures a positive electrical connection between the wire and the cap and prevents the wire end from coming off the wire.
When servicing wash and repack the ball bearings with a good molybdenum based grease or equivalent that stay put and not fling out. Molybfenum based front axle bearing grease has been the industry standard but there may something new with even better retention.
