    • MJ Series Edge Gap Info

    Here is some information to properly check and set the edge gap on the MJ series to get the biggest bang for the buck.

    The shank of a number 40 drill which is very close to 2.5MM  works fine and is a heck of a lot easier to come by than the official American Bosch gages. Now you know what that cover plate and holes in the base are for.  On the MJC, use the top of the rotor edge under the coil. If you want to get picky, diconnect the coil from the points  and use a multimeter or continuity tester to see precisely when the points open.
