      This mumbling about clearance at float discs is important. If the the drive hub crowds against the disc and the magneto drive cup it will stress the impulse coupler and cause the impulse not to engage. this will fail to retard the spark and make the tractor into an armbreaker. On the early gas powered cats there is a splined drive hub the can be slid fore and aft to allow side clearance.
