NS Motorcycle Magneto Manual

Here is the owners manual for the Splitdorf model NS motorcycle magneto. These were used on early Indians and possibly others. They had some issues with condensers as did many early Splitdorfs  but are easy to retrofit with a modern device. We like the Sprague/vishay "Orange Drop" capacitors as they are hermetically sealed and are built to handle spike currents.   They suffered from the usual woes of deteriorated insulation and icky sticky goo. They used some special pitch threads so best to check the OD and pitch before a frontal assault with taps and dies. Hopefully this will help keep you on the road.
